JUSTIN NGUYEN

BIOGRAPHY

I am a sports coach with over 15 years of experience working with youth and have taken my passion for teaching and love for kids to educate my students about the fundamentals of different sports through classes, camps, and skills clinics. I emphasize teaching fundamentally sound skills with a high energy teaching style to ensure that the kids have fun while learning! Sports have taught me the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, and I hope to pass those values to my students.

I am also a hip hop dance teacher in the Northern Virginia area, broadening awareness and preaching the positive impact of the dance style. I have choreographed for various organizations and developed a special interest in creating works by combining other dance genres. Credits include working with United Way and The Washington Redskins to promote healthy living for kids through stage shows and workshops.

I always knew that I wanted to help make a change in the world in some way. Working with kids, I experienced the positive long-term impact sports and dance classes could have on their lives and wanted to provide these classes for kids that normally may not have the opportunities to participate. I created JST because I knew it could be a way to make that change – currently, many students are sponsored for our after-school enrichment programs in Maryland and Virginia.

Director of Tennis

JET TRAN

BIOGRAPHY

In Tennis, the game always starts with love. This means that both players are at zero – we like to call it “love all”. This long held tradition dates all the way back to the Victorian period and originated in France where the game of Tennis itself was created. It was loved then by both royalty and commoners alike, and to this date the modern game of Tennis is played by over 18 million people within The United States alone.

My personal journey with Tennis began in my high school days. Upon joining my high school tennis team as an athletic experiment, I soon realized that this game was something more to me, but little did I know how much I would come to love it. Fast forward to current times, I have grown from playing for fun to passionately sharing my love of tennis with everyone around me. I am proud to say that I have successfully hooked my family and friends on Tennis, and the amount of joy we get from it is immeasurable. Tennis has given me moments that I will always cherish.

Coaching is the platform that allows me to share my knowledge and passion. With over 7 years of experience coaching Tennis throughout Fairfax County to students ranging in ages from 5 to 70, it is a pleasure for me to be doing what I love as part of the JST Family. I am honored to be the Director of Tennis for an organization that truly cares about its students and the community that it services. My mission is to help make playing Tennis accessible to anyone who desires to learn it and to make it into a lifelong skill that will enhance your overall quality of life. Through physical fitness goals and mental fortitude, the game of Tennis is a fun way to learn important life skills. It is an activity that I truly believe everyone should experience.

I always knew that I wanted to help make a change in the world in some way. Regional Director of Dance

DOMINICK CLEMENTE

BIOGRAPHY

I started dancing in 2011, after watching a video of robot dancers online. I was so amazed by what they could do, I couldn’t wait to do it myself! I started practicing non stop by myself in my bedroom, and before I knew it, I was enrolled in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop classes in my local studio, competing regionally and nationally with dozens of other incredibly talented dancers.

Since graduating high school and enrolling in college, I’ve competed in many different local and regional dance competitions independently, and I’ve met and shared knowledge and technique with hundreds of talented dancers from around the world. Credits include working with Culture Shock DC and Mimez Dance Troupe.  Now that I teach for JST, I’m able to share my love and passion for dance with the next generation! I love working for JST because I’m given the opportunity to watch kids smile and enjoy dance class while simultaneously seeing them develop as people and as dancers.

JST challenges me to constantly improve myself as a teacher while also allowing me to put my own style of teaching and dancing into every class. The result is that my students get both a fun experience of dances, games, and activities, while also receiving a robust dance training experience in multiple styles!

Director of Baseball / Family Engagement Coordinator

QUINCY HOLMES

BIOGRAPHY

My story begins back in college at North Carolina A&T State University. That is where I fell in love with working with children. I joined a male mentoring club and we took on a number of community service projects involving the city’s youth. No matter what type of project we were doing, I always recognized a common theme – children need positive role models in their life outside of their parents. They need people to look up to that aren’t just on the Big Screen. Meeting all those kids inspired me to become a strong role model. To this day I still keep in contact with some of the children and administrators I have met over the years. I take great pride in knowing that I was a part of their journey to become young adults.

In Fall 2017, I graduated from NCAT and moved to Northern Virginia, where I was introduced to a youth Flag Football program focused on inclusion and fun. I played baseball growing up so being a flag football coach was going to be a very new challenge for me. They gave me 3 teams ranging from 2nd-7th grade. At the end of my first season, I managed to coach my oldest team to the Championship. We lost in overtime, but the feeling of success washed over me. I couldn’t believe I walked into a completely foreign sport and gathered enough coaching knowledge to enable those kids to make it to the championship round. My willingness to take on new challenges combined with my passion for being a mentor were all the tools I needed to get them to the chip. I love that organization and I would be still working there today if I never met Justin.

Justin is the Founder of JST and has built up an incredible reputation in the DMV area over the past few years. I was referred to his program in the fall of 2019. Meeting Justin told me everything I needed to know about the organization. He was professional, respectful, and his passion for mentoring youth was very evident. This was definitely an environment I wanted to be in. I told Justin about my Football leap of faith, and he was so inspired he decided to take a leap of faith of his own. He was looking for a Baseball/Tee Ball Director, and he saw fit to give me that honor.

JST has been a wondrous edition to my life, and I am so glad to be a part of this great organization.
